The Guild of Door Supervisors (GDS)
"Uniting and Representing Professional Door Supervisors Worldwide"
Sadly, due to the lack of finance, The Guild of Door Supervisors will soon be closing down.
Originally, when forming the NDSA, I tried to set up an association for everyone in the industry – novice and veteran, newly trained and 'old school'. I had thousands of enquiries, but even at just £12.00 a year membership fee, less than 80 people joined. I then decided to change the NDSA to a Guild of professional door supervisors, over 100 agreed with me and said what a great idea it was yet only a handful ended up joining.
I can no longer continue to finance this from my own pocket and run an association without funds, and I can't get funds unless people join.
There are now over 130,000 licensed door supervisors. Time and time again people have tried to form an association for this massive work force, yet time and time they have failed. People moan about the industry and yet those that have the balls to try and change things either get criticised and shouted down, or just don't get the support they need. The industry is in the state it is in because of the apathy of the majority of its workforce.
To those who have supported me, I send you my heartfelt thanks.
To those that haven't don't ever moan about the industry if you are not willing to at least try to do something about changing it, and don't criticise those that do...
Stay safe
